Cosimo Mattasa ran two recording studios in New Orleans which recorded most the great R&B that came out of New Orleans between 1946 and 1966, including Fats Domino, Little Richard, Lloyd Price and Roy Brown, among many others.

These two 4 CD box sets on Proper Records are excellent samplers of the material that came out of Cosimo Matassa’s J&M Recordings Studio (1945-1956) and Cosimo Recording Studio (1956-1966) in New Orleans.
