Down And Out Blues is a classic 1950’s Sonny Boy Williamson album, originally released on Chess Records in 1959.
This 2 CD re-release contains the original Down And Out Blues album, with some bonus tracks, as well as Sonny Boy Williamson’s recordings for Trumpet Records of Jackson, Mississippi, made in 1951-54 before Sonny Boy Williamson started recording on Chess Records in Chicago.

Some Sonny Boy Williamson Sites To Visit

- Trumpet Records office and studio, Farish Street, Jackson, Mississippi. There is a Mississippi Blues Trail marker at this site.

- Sonny Boy Williamson’s grave is in a small cemetery in Tutwiler, Mississippi. The grave was unmarked until Lillian McMurray of Trumpet Records placed the gravestone on it.
